A teaching series in seven parts. This is the overview — start here, then read the parts in order.
Before we start: I'm not a theologian. I'm a guy who reads his Bible and takes it seriously. This series is what I've found so far — my current understanding, backed by the scriptures I reference. Christians have disagreed about some of these things for centuries, and I'm not here to pretend I've got the final answer. What I am here to do is be honest with the text. If something I write doesn't sit right with you, go read the scriptures yourself. That's always the right move.
Seven posts, each building on the last. You can jump into any one, but they make more sense together. We'll start by untangling the words English Bibles blur into "hell," follow the Bible's own comeback story from a garden to a city, look hard at what Jesus actually said about who gets in, and work through the honest, sometimes-debated questions about death, heaven, hell, and everything people quietly wonder about at 2 AM.
Read with your Bible open. If something doesn't sit right, go check it against the scriptures yourself — that's always the right move.
