I was on a mission trip in Jaffna, Sri Lanka in the late 1990s. One evening we held a meeting outside of Jaffna in a small village where Trumpetsound Ministries had a church. I preached and prayed for the sick.
After the meeting, the woman in the photo came up to me. She had been healed from severe migraines that she had suffered from for 15 years. Neither I nor anyone else had prayed for her. She was healed while she was listening to the preaching of the Word.
John 15:3:
"You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you."
If you are sceptical of accounts like this, I understand. I would encourage you to approach it with an open mind. A Dutch research team has examined 14 cases of medically remarkable recoveries associated with prayer. The study is peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Religion and Health (2023). It concludes that these healings cannot be fully explained within a purely biomedical framework, and that different forms of knowledge — medical, biographical, and spiritual — together provide a more complete picture.
